Ms. Salima Oines Khakoo practices immigration law and has a background in public policy. For 13 years, Ms. Khakoo served as the CEO and Managing Attorney of American Dream Law, a firm devoted to sliding fee scale services in employment, family, and humanitarian areas of immigration law including assistance for survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, and other crimes.

Currently, she practices at Myers and Thompson, a boutique firm. Additionally, Ms. Khakoo is an adjunct faculty member at Mitchell-Hamline School of Law serving in pro bono capacity for area non-profits. Ms. Khakoo was awarded as the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota’s 2013 Pro Bono Attorney of the Year and has served as a Commissioner of the Minneapolis Civil Rights Commission. She has also served on AKSWB and AKCAB.
