Karim is the Director of Development and Volunteer Engagement. Karim leverages his knowledge of philanthropy, a network of industry professionals, and years of volunteering experience to bring new ideas and best practices in mobilizing funds and people. He is committed to ensuring AKF’s volunteers are supported in their fundraising efforts and that AKF USA is being smart and innovative in reaching its resource mobilization goals.
Karim brings a decade of experience as an attorney and advisor on a variety of financing transactions. Further, Karim has years of experience in volunteer leadership. As Chairman of the Aga Khan Education Board Midwest and then Honorary Secretary of the National Education Board, Karim was responsible for coordinating the work of over 2,000 volunteers across the country. He collaborated with teams to arrive at a shared vision, develop a strategy with stakeholder buy-in, create tactical execution plans with attention to risks, agree on performance metrics, and execute and troubleshoot, all while ensuring that volunteers felt respected, valued, and appreciated.
