Rizwan is an expert on national security, aerospace & defense, and nuclear weapons policy. At Boeing Defense, where his portfolio includes multi-billion dollar nuclear deterrence and missile defense programs, he advances national security by harnessing the technological and human workforce capabilities of the U.S. industrial base to deliver innovative, timely and reliable solutions to American and allied military services.
Prior to joining Boeing, Rizwan was a nuclear weapons researcher at Columbia, MIT, and Harvard, and before that he worked in the U.S. government, at a think tank in Washington DC, and as a consultant in the aerospace & defense industry. His expertise is in nuclear weapons policy and technology, and his regional specialties include East Asia, South Asia, and the Middle East. Rizwan earned his PhD in International Security Studies and his MA from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, the first and oldest graduate-only institution for the study of international affairs in the United States. He completed his undergraduate studies in international relations at Georgia Tech.
Within the Jamat, over the past 15 years Rizwan has been an REC teacher, a counselor at al-Ummah, a safety team lead for Boston JK, and a mentor on the National College Expedition. Currently, he runs an elite and agile team of international development experts who advise senior leadership on implementing solutions to address some of the global Jamat’s most acute poverty challenges.
