Dr. Cole is a physician, author, and entrepreneur. He built a successful surgical and obstetric practice in the Bay Area in the mid 80s. When confronted with the challenge of managed care, he founded the largest Ob/Gyn IPA in California to negotiate and stabilize compensation. At the age of 49, Dr. Cole received a cancer diagnosis which resulted in physical disability ending his obstetric and surgical practice after 25 years. While in experimental treatment, he became the Chief Medical Officer for a molecular diagnostics firm. With continued survival, he returned to patient care to practice Hospice medicine. He has now started a practice to help patient’s facing life threatening illness address their anxiety, meaning, and purpose as they face their mortality.
