Dr. Lalani is an Associate Professor in the department of Molecular and Human Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. She holds board certifications in Pediatrics, Clinical Genetics, and Clinical Cytogenetics. She has a longstanding interest in human genetics and has been involved in identifying genetic basis of several neurodevelopmental disorders and cardiovascular defects in children. Dr. Lalani is interested in the application of molecular cytogenetic diagnostic tools such as chromosomal microarray analysis (CMA) and whole exome sequencing in understanding the genetic basis of birth defects. She has published extensively and has received several awards for excellence in teaching and patient care.
